David Luiz 'broke wrist' against Arsenal

Chelsea defender David Luiz reportedly suffered a broken wrist during Sunday's goalless draw with Arsenal.

Chelsea defender David Luiz is reportedly set for several weeks on the sidelines after breaking his wrist during Sunday's goalless draw with Arsenal.

The 30-year-old is thought to have suffered a wrist fracture when he collided with advertising hoarding - and a photographer - during the encounter at Stamford Bridge, but played on anyway before being dismissed in the dying minutes of the encounter for a challenge on Sead Kolasinac.

The Brazilian is now suspended for the next three domestic games - meaning that he could theoretically return after the October international break, but according to The Sun, he is now set for even "more weeks" out.

The newspaper says that Luiz has not required surgery for the injury, however, and in an encouraging sign has continued training in a splint.

Luiz has been an ever-present for Antonio Conte's side in the league so far this season.
