Chelsea injury, suspension news and return dates vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers: Palmer, Colwill, Fernandez

Palmer, Fernandez issues: Chelsea injury, suspension list vs. Wolves

Chelsea return to action on Monday night when they play host to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League.

The Blues will be bidding to end a five-game winless streak in England's top flight, a run that was extended by a 2-2 draw against Bournemouth on Tuesday night.

As a result, Chelsea have dropped down to fifth in the table and may be placed lower come kickoff at Stamford Bridge, upping the stakes ahead of a meeting with a Wolves side that has improved under Vitor Pereira.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Chelsea's injury and suspension news ahead of the visit of Wolves, who went down 3-0 to Newcastle United last time out.

Wesley Fofana

Status: Out Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: Unknown

Wesley Fofana and Maresca have clashed over the former's recovery time from a hamstring injury, as the Chelsea boss expects him to miss the rest of the season, while the defender is targeting a return in March. Either way, he will not be available for this game.

Benoit Badiashile

Status: Out Type of injury: Thigh Possible return date: February 14 (vs. Brighton & Hove Albion)

Fellow defender Benoit Badiashile sustained a thigh problem in training last month, and Maresca has conceded the former Monaco man will be absent until February.

Omari Kellyman

Status: Out Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: Unknown

Summer signing Omari Kellyman is yet to make his Blues bow due to a serious hamstring injury, and there has still been no update on when the fledgling playmaker might be considered for selection again.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Status: Out Type of injury: Unspecified Possible return date: Unknown

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has been nursing an unspecified injury since Christmas. As it stands, it is unclear when the midfielder will return to the squad.

Cole Palmer

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Unspecified Possible return date: January 20 (vs. Wolves)

Maresca revealed at Friday's press conference that Cole Palmer had missed training with an unspecified issue, adding that it was unclear whether he would be able to return over the coming days.

Levi Colwill

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Unspecified Possible return date: January 20 (vs. Wolves)

Like Palmer, Levi Colwill was unable to take part in training on Friday and appears to be a doubt for Monday's fixture.

Romeo Lavia

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Unspecified Possible return date: January 20 (vs. Wolves)

Romeo Lavia, who has recently returned from a muscle injury, is another player who missed training on Friday and may struggle to feature on Monday.

Enzo Fernandez

Status: Out Type of injury: Unspecified Possible return date: January 20 (vs. Wolves)

Maresca has revealed that Fernandez was also forced to miss training on Friday and will be assessed over the coming days.

CHELSEA'S SUSPENSION LIST

Mykhaylo Mudryk

Possible return date: Unknown

Ukrainian winger Mykhaylo Mudryk is currently serving a provisional doping ban after testing positive for meldonium; the player has been publicly supported by his manager but will remain unavailable for selection for the foreseeable future.
