Chelsea team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers

Sports Mole rounds up all of Chelsea's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their Premier League fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Chelsea return to Premier League action on Saturday afternoon when they play host to Wolverhampton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge.

With four matches remaining, Chelsea hold a five-point advantage in the race for Champions League qualification, making them favourites to secure a spot in next year's competition.

However, the Blues head into this fixture on the back of a 1-0 defeat at Everton, making Thomas Tuchel wary of a further slip-up at a time when his side are becoming increasingly inconsistent.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Chelsea's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with the out-of-form West Midlands outfit.

N'Golo Kante

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Unspecified
Possible return date: May 7 (vs. Wolves)

Tuchel revealed at the start of this week that N'Golo Kante missed out against Everton due to being "in pain" during the Manchester United fixture which preceded the match at Goodison Park. The Frenchman could return at the weekend, but no risks will be taken if his fitness is in doubt.

Andreas Christensen

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Illness
Possible return date: May 7 (vs. Wolves)

Ahead of the Everton game, Andreas Christensen suggested that he was fit to feature after illness. In the end, the Denmark international was not named in the squad, but he should be recalled to the group for this contest.

Ben Chilwell

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Ben Chilwell has undergone surgery on his knee injury, meaning that the Chelsea defender will not be available for selection until next season.

Callum Hudson-Odoi

Status: Out
Type of injury: Achilles
Possible return date: Unknown

Whenever Tuchel has spoken about Callum Hudson-Odoi's Achilles issues, he has suggested that it continues to be monitored on a week-by-week basis. With the end of the season coming up, it appears unlikely that he will be risked during the run-in.

Ross Barkley

Status: Minor
Type of injury: Illness
Possible return date: May 7

Ross Barkley is another Chelsea player who has suffered from illness of late. While the midfielder may come back into contention for this contest, he will only feature among the replacements at best.

CHELSEA'S SUSPENSION LIST

Chelsea have no players suspended for this game.
