The end is near: Europa League 2019

While the whole world's attention is bound to the latest developments in the Brexit process in the UK as well as presidential elections in Ukraine, there is another issue worth covering in greater detail. This is the unique run of the Europa League this year and its probably most unprecedented result. Even if you are not the greatest football fan in the world, knowing what is going on in this field pays off in conversations with people from all walks of life.

This year we have seen some amazing matches and rather predicted the results of several games. Even though football championships are maybe not as exciting and engaging as adult dating sites, they still can win your attention over for a few months of constant games watching and supporting your favourites. This time, we have got one of the most impressive five teams which made it to the final stages of the championship and these we are going to discuss below.

View on the 2019's semi-finalist teams One of the first things that strikes the eye when you look at the teams which made it this far is that all of them had the latest win or runner-up place quite some time ago. For Frankfurt (Ger), for instance, it was 1980 when the team proved to be the best in the league. Arsenal was standing on the pedestal in 2000, although still as a runner-up.

Let us take a closer look at the last four teams whose games we are yet to experience before the final on May 29, 2019.

  • Frankfurt (GER): After more than 30 years of being too far to the cup, this year can be the one - mostly owing to two outstanding players this season, namely Luka Jovic and Sebastien Haller. By winning 6-3 versus Shakhtar Donetsk, 1-0 versus Internazionale, and finally 4-4 versus Benfica, the team has granted itself a solid place in the semi-final matches.
  • Chelsea (ENG): One of the world's most loved football clubs have managed to get into the finals this year. After the marvellous victory back in 2013, it seems the team is not going to let it slip away right now as well. With the UEFA Europa League top scorer, Olivier Giroud, the team has an unprecedented advantage over its competitors. By also having some of the older squad players this season, its chances are pretty high.
  • Arsenal (ENG): England's other strong son, Arsenal, has also made it to the semi-finals and cannot help but make its fans all over the world happy about it. After being a runner-up in 2000, this year can be the year of changes. Its great results in games, as well as the well-prepared plating strategy, has all chances of getting the team onto the pedestal.

All in all, the final is close and soon enough we will find out who out of the mentioned teams is going to bring the reward back home. So, stay tuned!
