Tuesday's EFL Cup predictions including Chelsea vs. Newcastle United

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's EFL Cup fixtures, including Chelsea vs. Newcastle United.

Everton vs. Fulham (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Aiming for a fifth victory on the trot to advance to the last four of the EFL Cup, Everton welcome Fulham to their Goodison Park base for a quarter-final encounter on Tuesday evening.

The Toffees progressed to the final eight courtesy of a 3-0 beating of Burnley in the fourth round, while Marco Silva's charges ran out 3-1 winners over Championship high-flyers Ipswich Town.

We say: Everton 2-1 Fulham

Fulham should not lose their newly-established offensive prowess overnight, but Everton have been the masters of keeping things tight at the back since the start of the month and ought to take advantage of the Cottagers' recent shortcomings on the road.

With the Goodison crowd also as fervent as ever, Dyche's in-form side have what it takes to avenge their undeserved August loss against a Jimenez-less Fulham and punch their ticket to the semi-finals.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

Port Vale vs. Middlesbrough (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Port Vale and Middlesbrough will go head-to-head for a place in the EFL Cup semi-finals when they take to the pitch at Vale Park on Tuesday.

The League One hosts are set to play their first-ever game in the quarter-finals of the competition, while Boro are appearing at this stage for the first time since the 2018-19 season.

We say: Port Vale 1-3 Middlesbrough

For the first time in their cup run, Port Vale will go up against a team from a higher division, and we think that the gulf in quality could help Middlesbrough claim a relatively comfortable victory to seal their place the semi-finals.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

Chelsea vs. Newcastle (Tuesday, 8.00pm)

One of three all Premier League EFL Cup quarter-final ties takes place at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday evening, as Chelsea host last year's beaten finalists Newcastle United.

The Blues strolled past Blackburn Rovers 2-0 to set up a last-eight date with the Magpies, who exacted revenge over current holders Manchester United with a merciless 3-0 beating.

We say: Chelsea 2-1 Newcastle United

With Chelsea rediscovering their golden touch at Stamford Bridge while Newcastle flatter to deceive away from home, the stage is ostensibly set for Pochettino's men to crush the Magpies' dreams of silverware once more, in spite of the visitors' noteworthy pair of victories so far.

There should be no repeat of the 4-1 horror show from last month for Chelsea, who can capitalise on Newcastle's fatigue and growing injury crisis to move one step closer to EFL Cup glory.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.
