Chelsea win Group E

Chelsea beat Steaua Bucuresti 1-0 at Stamford Bridge to finish as winners of Group E in the Champions League.

Chelsea have finished as winners of Group E thanks to a 1-0 win over Steaua Bucuresti at Stamford Bridge.

Jose Mourinho's side took the lead in the 10th minute when Demba Ba shinned into the net at the back post from Oscar's flick-on - although UEFA initially ruled it an own goal by Daniel Georgievski.

The Macedonian right-back was spared the indignity when match officials reviewed the incident at half time.

The Senegal striker missed a golden opportunity to double the lead after the break, firing over from six yards after being found by Willian.

Eden Hazard lashed over the bar after Andre Schurrle's initial effort had been blocked in the 71st minute as the Blues continued to apply pressure while enjoying little reward.

The one goal proved to be enough in the end, consigning the Romanian club to a 23rd game without a win - a new record in the competition.
