Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Chelsea could line up for their Champions League last-16 second leg with Atletico Madrid on Wednesday evening.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has a couple of suspension concerns to work around for Wednesday's Champions League last-16 second leg with Atletico Madrid.

The ever-improving Mason Mount and fellow midfielder Jorginho both picked up their third bookings of the tournament in February's 1-0 first-leg triumph, so the duo will play no part at Stamford Bridge.

Tuchel admitted that Mateo Kovacic was rested at Leeds United with that in mind, so the Croatian is set to partner N'Golo Kante in the engine room this week, while Hakim Ziyech could benefit from Mount's absence.

The hosting manager opted against deploying his usual 3-4-2-1 against Leeds but could revert to his tried-and-tested system here, with Andreas Christensen, Antonio Rudiger and Cesar Azpilicueta tasked with maintaining Chelsea's perfect defensive record on home soil since Tuchel took over.

Chelsea will have to do without Thiago Silva after he failed to overcome a thigh injury in time, but his absence has not been majorly felt in the heart of defence, while Tammy Abraham is the hosts' only other injury concern with an ongoing ankle issue.

A change in formation would allow Marcos Alonso and Callum Hudson-Odoi to return out wide after the pair both started in Bucharest, while Timo Werner may be given the nod over Kai Havertz after his unfruitful showing at Leeds.

Olivier Giroud's spectacular bicycle kick propelled Chelsea to a first-leg win last month, and with the 34-year-old averaging a goal every 38 minutes in the tournament this season, it would be a surprise not to see him lead the line.

Chelsea possible starting lineup:
Mendy; Azpilicueta, Christensen, Rudiger; Hudson-Odoi, Kante, Kovacic, Alonso; Ziyech, Werner; Giroud
