Chelsea team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Red Bull Salzburg

Chelsea injury, suspension list vs. Salzburg

Chelsea will be aiming to seal a place in the knockout stages of the Champions League when they face Austrian champions Red Bull Salzburg in Tuesday's Group E clash at the Red Bull Arena.

The Blues currently sit top of the section with seven points to their name and will ensure that they cannot be caught by Salzburg or AC Milan with a win on their travels.

Graham Potter's side head into the game on the back of a 1-1 draw with Manchester United in the Premier League, as Casemiro came up with a last-gasp equaliser following Jorginho's penalty.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Chelsea's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their clash with Salzburg, who sit second in Group E with six points.

Kalidou Koulibaly

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: October 29 (vs. Brighton & Hove Albion)

Kalidou Koulibaly was not in the squad to face Man United, with Potter revealing that the Senegal defender came out of the midweek clash with Brentford with knee pain. The issue is not a serious one, but it will render him unavailable for this game.

Wesley Fofana

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Wesley Fofana remains in the medical bay with the knee injury that he sustained against AC Milan on October 5, and his prospects of playing before the World Cup are slim.

Reece James

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

One week on from Fofana's injury, Reece James suffered a serious knee issue of his own at San Siro, and the right-back still has four weeks to go in a brace before he begins a lengthy rehabilitation period.

N'Golo Kante

Status: Out Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: Unknown

N'Golo Kante has been ruled out for four months after undergoing surgery on a hamstring injury, meaning that France will have to defend their World Cup without him.

CHELSEA'S SUSPENSION LIST

Chelsea have no players suspended for this match, but Mason Mount is one yellow card away from a European ban.
