Charlton Athletic confirm Patrick Bauer signing

Charlton Athletic have completed the signing of German defender Patrick Bauer from Maritimo for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old has penned a four-year deal with the Addicks, after spending the past three seasons in Portugal.

"Since the season finished we've been working hard to bring Patrick to Charlton," manager Guy Luzon told the club's official website.

"I'm really pleased that we've been able to complete the move. He will bring us a lot of height and power to our defence and is a perfect fit for the Championship."

Bauer, who started his career at Stuttgart, has represented Germany at youth level.
