Bruce has preferred the former Everton man over Abel Hernandez in attack in the only change from the side which beat Fulham in midweek.

The goalscorers from that game, Ahmed Elmohamady and Sone Aluko, both keep their places in Bruce's team.

Charlton make two changes to the side which drew with Derby County last time out, with top goalscorer Tony Watt and defender Chris Solly both ruled out through injury.

Subs: Mitov, Sarr, Lennon, Charles-Cook, Kennedy, Harriott, Ahearne-Grant

Hull City: McGregor; Odubajo, Dawson, Davies, Robertson; Elmohamady, Meyler, Huddlestone; Aluko, Akpom; Jelavic
