Celtic striker Anthony Stokes reveals a desire to sign a new deal at the club.

Celtic striker Anthony Stokes has revealed that he expects to sign a new deal at the club, despite rejecting an initial contract offer from the Scottish outfit.

The former Arsenal forward, who has been linked with a return to England, has also once more insisted that he is not actively seeking a move.

He told the Daily Record: "I'm sure something will be sorted out. For the moment I'm just enjoying the chance to get away and take a break. But I'm looking forward to getting back and hopefully getting a strong pre-season under my belt.

"If I can do that, hopefully I can get myself into the team to stay. I missed a lot of football last season and want to make sure I'm involved as much as possible next time."

The 24-year-old scored seven goals in 23 games last season.
