Celtic lift Scottish Cup

Celtic lift Scottish Cup

Celtic have won the Scottish Cup, beating Hibernian 3-0 at Hampden Park this afternoon.

Despite a bright start by the Edinbugh side, Gary Hooper broke the deadlock for the SPL champions inside the opening 10 minutes, volleying the ball in from close range.

Anthony Stokes and Joe Ledley both had chances to double the Hoops' lead, but it was Hooper who netted the second on the half-hour mark, heading in from a Stokes cross.

Hibernian rarely looked like getting back into the match, struggling to get the ball to striker Leigh Griffiths.

Ledley sealed the victory in the 78th minute, picking up the ball after a scuffed shot by Hooper and firing it into the top corner from 10 yards out.

The victory comes just weeks after Celtic were crowned Scottish champions.
