Celtic through to semis with emphatic win

Celtic book their place in the semi-final of the Scottish League Cup with a 6-0 hammering of 10-man Partick Thistle.

Celtic booked their place in the semi-final of the Scottish League Cup with a 6-0 hammering of 10-man Partick Thistle this evening.

John Guidetti scored a hat-trick as Ronny Deila's side hammered the 10 men of Thistle with a ruthless second-half display.

Guidetti had his first of the evening with a free kick just after the hour mark, before Stuart Brannigan was given a straight red card at the end of the first period for a poor challenge on the Swedish striker.

Emilio Izaguirre extended the advantage for the Bhoys three minutes into the restart before Guidetti added his second shortly after with another free kick.

Guidetti wrapped up his hat-trick from the penalty spot before Leigh Griffiths made it 5-0 just after the hour mark.

Ex-Wolves star Griffiths then claimed his second of the evening on 68 minutes with a close-range finish.
