John Hartson: 'Kris Commons must play more for Celtic'

Former Celtic striker John Hartson feels that Kris Commons must play more under Ronny Deila this season after an impressive performance against Ajax in the Europa League.

Former Celtic striker John Hartson has said that Ronny Deila needs to play Kris Commons more regularly.

The 32-year-old made his first European start for Celtic against Ajax in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

Commons was his side's best player on the pitch, and Hartson says that the midfielder must play more for the club.

"Commons brings that to the Celtic team, an ability to create something when others would snatch at the ball," Hartson is quoted as saying by HITC.

"He made it look so easy, his cute ball for Bitton played with the perfect weight. But he's probably the only player in this Celtic team who could have pulled it off.

"Deila has had a blind spot where Commons is concerned."

Celtic host Dundee on Sunday.
