Celta Vigo's John Guidetti pleased with "brilliant year"

Sweden striker John Guidetti says that he is settled in Spain after "a brilliant year" with Celta Vigo.

Sweden striker John Guidetti has revealed that he is settled in Spain after "a brilliant year" with Celta Vigo.

The 24-year-old joined Celta on a free transfer from Manchester City last summer and hit 12 goals in all competitions during a solid first season in Spain's top flight.

The forward, who is currently on international duty at Euro 2016, has also branded La Liga "the best league in the world".

"When I finished at Celtic I had the chance to go to Spain with Celta Vigo and I've got to say it's been a fantastic year," Guidetti, who spent the 2014-15 season on loan with Celtic, told the Daily Record. "I think I made the right decision about the move as I've scored a lot of goals for the club.

"I've scored against some big La Liga clubs and I'm really enjoying life right now. Celta is a terrific club to play for. We did amazingly well this year. We've qualified directly for the Europa League and beat some top sides. It's an exciting time. We beat Barcelona at home, Villarreal and Sevilla away, and Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey.

"We've had a great season and it's been a brilliant year for me. I'm playing in the best league in the world and it's great to test yourself against the top footballers."

Guidetti signed a five-year contract with Celta upon his arrival on July 11, 2015.
