Luis Enrique: 'We deserved to win'

Celta Vigo boss Luis Enrique believes that his side deserved to beat Athletic Bilbao on Monday evening.

Celta Vigo boss Luis Enrique believes that his side were unlucky not to take all three points from their league clash with Athletic Bilbao on Monday.

The points were shared in a goalless draw in Vigo, but Enrique has insisted that his team deserved to beat the Champions League hopefuls.

"Had we won today I don't think anyone would have been surprised," Enrique told reporters.

"But the game doesn't reward merit, only effectiveness. Last week we deserved a draw and won and this week we deserved to win and drew.

"We've been better than Athletic, who are in fourth place and in great form."

Celta currently sit 11th in the table.
