Tom Heaton poised for Watford move

Tom Heaton is reportedly on the verge of completing a transfer to Watford.

The former Manchester United goalkeeper has been a free agent for a short space of time following his release from Cardiff City last month.

A number of Championship clubs were said to be interested in adding the 26-year-old to their ranks this summer.

However, it now appears that the Hornets have won the race, particularly because they can offer him regular starting action, according Sky Sports News.

Watford have been searching for a goalkeeper since losing out to Brighton & Hove Albion for Polish stopper Tomasz Kuszczak.
