Cardiff City agree Etien Velikonja deal

Cardiff City have agreed a deal to sign NK Maribor striker Etien Velikonja.

The 23-year-old Slovenian is expected to officially pen a four-year contract at the end of the month after he has passed a medical.

"Etien is a player I tried to sign once before and have keenly followed his progress with Maribor," Bluebirds boss Malky Mackay told the club's official website.

"We felt the time was right to bring him to the UK and I'm looking forward to seeing his career continue to develop with Cardiff City."

Velikonja scored 20 goals in 42 appearances for Maribor last season.
