Neil Warnock is adamant that Cardiff City "should have won" against Huddersfield Town on Saturday as the two teams played out a 0-0 draw at the John Smith's Stadium.

The hosts had more of the ball in a first half that saw only one shot on target, but Jonathan Hogg's 63rd-minute red card turned the tide in Cardiff's favour.

Despite a heavy period of pressure, however, the Bluebirds could not breach the Terriers' backline as the spoils were shared in Yorkshire.

"We have got to take chances," Warnock told BBC Sport. "Even before they went down to 10 men I thought we started the second half better, we should have scored and should have won the game.

"If you'd have said a point away from home before the game you'd take it but I'm disappointed not to get all three. I thought the lads overall did alright. The longer the game went on the better we became."

Cardiff turn their attentions to the EFL Cup with a midweek second-round game against Norwich City at the Cardiff City Stadium.
