Solskjaer: 'Cancellation of trip not punishment'

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has denied that the cancellation of Cardiff City's planned warm-weather training camp is punishment for the 4-0 defeat to Hull City in the Premier League.

The Bluebirds were scheduled to fly to Abu Dhabi for five days ahead of this weekend's match at Tottenham Hotspur, but chairman Mehmet Dalman reportedly visited the dressing room after the thrashing on Saturday to tell the players and staff that it has been called off.

"It is not punishment. We want to keep everyone together as a group. We need to regroup and to train," Solskjaer is quoted as saying by The Express.

"The players' confidence has been knocked a lot by this result so that is my main priority now.

"We are going to work hard this week, stick together and maybe because of the extra day we now have we will have one or two extra sessions as well."

Cardiff are 19th in the league, three points from safety.
