Slade: 'We have to do more at home'

Cardiff City manager Russell Slade has called on the Bluebirds to raise their levels in home matches after a goalless draw with Bristol City.

The Severnside derby last night finished in a stalemate, with Cardiff missing out on the opportunity to move up into the playoff places.

"We were below par in the first half, we didn't have a creative edge," PA quotes Slade as saying. "We are tight and organised but we need to be doing more, particularly at home, to be creating more opportunities.

"Sometimes in football you cannot always find the level you've set yourself but there's no need for doom and gloom.

"If we had won this game then we would have been two points off second place, you have to be positive about what we're doing."

Despite missing out on victory last night, Cardiff still have the third best home record in the league with 14 points out of a possible 21 this season.

Slade's side next travel to face out-of-form Ipswich Town at Portman Road on Saturday.
