League Two roundup: Burton Albion stay second

Sports Mole's roundup of League Two action as Burton Albion and Morcemabe maintain their 100% records.

Burton Albion maintained their 100% record in League Two with a 1-0 win against Exeter City on Tuesday evening.

Stuart Beavon's 40th-minute winner was enough for the home side, who stay second due to Morecambe's 1-0 win over Oxford United.

Andrew Managan scored twice as Shrewsbury Town hammered Accrington Stanley 4-0.

A dreadful few minutes for the visitors towards the end of the first half saw Jean-Louis Akpa-Akpro and Connor Goldson add the other goals moments after goalkeeper Luke Simpson was sent off.

Tranmere Rovers eased past Wycombe Wanderers 2-0 thanks to goals from Cole Stockton and Max Power.

York City came back from two goals down to share the points with Cambridge United.

Tom Elliott and Kwesi Appiah gave the visitors a two-goal lead but strikes from Jake Hyde and Wes Fletcher secured a draw for the home side.

Dagenham & Redbridge eased past Hartlepool United 2-0 at Victoria Park thanks to goals from Luke Howell and Abu Ogogo.

Bury drew 1-1 with Luton Town, while Mansfield Town beat Newport County by the same scoreline thanks to Chris Clements's effort.

AFC Wimbledon bounced back from their defeat to fierce rivals MK Dons in the League Cup last week with a 1-0 win against Southend United.

Plymouth Argyle were held to a 1-1 draw with Stevenage and required a 90th-minute penalty from Deane Smalley to cancel out Connor Calcutt's opener.

Cheltenham Town and Carlisle United drew 0-0, while Portsmouth went fourth in the division with a 2-0 win over Northampton Town.
