Burnley begin contract negotiations with Kieran Trippier

Burnley have begun contract negotiations with Kieran Trippier as they look to secure his services for the foreseeable future.

The 23-year-old's impressive form in the club's successful promotion bid has seen him linked with teams such as Arsenal and Newcastle United this season.

However, Burnley are hopeful that he will agree to a contract extension ahead of their return to the Premier League.

"I've got a year left, I'm enjoying my football here, and we're in talks," Trippier is quoted as saying by the Burnley Express.

"I'm happy at Burnley, I'm 10 minutes away, close to my family and friends, so we'll see what happens."

Trippier has one year remaining on his current contract.
