Ashley Barnes signs new Burnley deal

Burnley announce that forward Ashley Barnes has penned a new long-term deal at the Premier League club.

Burnley forward Ashley Barnes has penned a new long-term contract at Turf Moor.

The 28-year-old's previous contract was due to expire in 2019, but his form for the Clarets has resulted in interest from other clubs in the Premier League.

However, Barnes has suggested that he had always been keen to extend his stay at the North-West outfit, and is keen to help the club to continue to impress in the top flight.

Barnes told the club's official website: "I think I am playing some of my best football, but I've still got a lot to come.

"I'm still learning. I learn every day on the training ground. I knuckle down and try to do the right things and keep taking on information from the staff and it's paying off. The club is only going in one direction and that's up and I'm privileged to be part of it."

Barnes has netted seven goals in all competitions this season, two of which have come at Manchester City and Manchester United.
