Burnley boss Sean Dyche says that his players have little time to get carried away by their first half to the campaign as the games continue to come thick and fast.

Sean Dyche has claimed that his Burnley players will remain grounded during the busy festive period, despite talk of a potential battle for a European spot.

The Clarets have been the surprise package of the Premier League season to date, collecting 32 points from their opening 18 fixtures to find themselves in sixth place.

Burnley face Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United either side of Christmas Day, however, while also welcoming Liverpool to Turf Moor on New Year's Day after a trip to Huddersfield Town.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, Dyche said: "There's not much to get carried away with you know, the games come thick and fast particularly at this time of year. We've got a clutch of games now against the real superpower clubs so you can't take anything for granted in the Premier League and we certainly don't.

"We know we have to give every inch of ourselves to every game to get what we want. A real tough run of games and different for different reasons. You can't discount Huddersfield. They are going well particularly at their own patch. Everyone just looks at the superpowers within that run but they're going well as well.

"The good thing is that mentally as a group we know that every game is a challenge for us and I think that there is an acceptance of that and there's a reality to it. On the other hand we are going well and we've earned the right so therefore we continue to work hard to get everything we can."

Burnley have lost just four games in the top flight this season, which is as many defeats as they suffered in their last six games of the 2016-17 campaign.
