Ings "upset" by Twitter abuse

Burnley striker Danny Ings has revealed that he has received abuse on Twitter due to his uncertain future at the club.

The 22-year-old is expected to leave the relegated Clarets when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Real Sociedad, Arsenal and Liverpool are among the clubs that are thought to be interested in the forward, who joined Burnley from Bournemouth in 2011.

"I got a small minority of people sending abusive tweets," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "That did upset me a little bit because of everything this club means to me and what we've been through together. But at the same time I understand the fans' frustration. It was always going to be tough in this league."

Ings has scored 10 goals in 36 appearances for Burnley so far this season.
