Burnley boss Sean Dyche admits that he was delighted with his side as they overcame the disappointment of losing to Arsenal by beating Bournemouth on the south coast.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche has admitted that he was relieved that his side did not suffer with a "hangover" from their defeat to Arsenal when they faced Bournemouth on Wednesday night.

Last weekend, Burnley conceded a controversial last-minute penalty to lose to the Gunners at Turf Moor, but goals from Chris Wood and Robbie Brady earned the Clarets an impressive win over the Cherries.

The 46-year-old is quoted by Sky Sports News as saying: "I was very pleased with that [the start], we wanted to come down and be on the front foot. There was no hangover from Sunday.

"I thought in the first half, in particular, we were very dominant, we hit the bar, we made the 'keeper work. We scored a fine goal and we kept our 'keeper very quiet."

Burnley now sit in sixth place in the Premier League table ahead of Saturday's trip to Leicester City.
