Andre Gray pays tribute to Burnley after leaving for Watford in an £18.5m transfer.

Andre Gray has paid tribute to the Burnley squad and fans following his £18.5m switch to Watford.

The 26-year-old has joined the Hornets for what represents a club-record fee, bringing to an end his two-year stay at Turf Moor.

Taking to Twitter after the announcement, Gray wrote: "Don't know where to begin, but all I can say to everyone connected with Burnley football club is THANK YOU!

"The club that helped me achieve my dream of playing in the Premier League and giving me the chance to do that, to the gaffer and all the coaching, physios and sport science staff, down to the chef and kit man and also the fans for making me feel at home from my first day until now, I can't thank you enough!

"I went there with two goals... to get into the Premier League and stay in the Premier League and we did it, never forget anyone there for what they've done for me.

"Now a special mention to my brothers, my family, my teammates, created friends for life and leave with a heavy heart leaving them all as our bond was special, as I'm sure everyone else would agree. I wish them all nothing but the best!"

During his time with Burnley, Gray made 78 appearances for the club in all competitions and scored 23 goals in 41 Championship appearances during their successful promotion campaign in 2015-16.
