Bromley vs. Altrincham - prediction, team news, lineups

Bromley will be looking to clinch a victory in their final home game of the National League season when they face Altrincham on Tuesday.

The visitors, meanwhile, will be aiming to bounce back after losing 3-0 to Notts County at the weekend.

Match preview

With 10 points separating them from the playoff places, Bromley know that they will remain in the fifth tier of English football for another season.

After achieving a playoff finish last term, the hosts may be disappointed to be in 11th position, although they could still move up a couple of places in the final two matches.

The Ravens have struggled for wins of late, with their last six matches resulting in just one victory, and they were denied three points by Dover Athletic at the weekend in the most dramatic of circumstances.

Daniel Collinge equalised for Dover nine minutes from time to cancel out Chris Bush's opener before Corey Whitely restored Bromley's lead in the 90th minute, but it was not enough to clinch victory as Collinge grabbed his and Dover's second goal in the third minute of stoppage time to ensure that the spoils were shared.

That result did extend Bromley's unbeaten home run to four matches, although three of those contests have ended in draws.

Altrincham, on the other hand, look set to improve on last season's 17th-placed finish, with Tuesday's visitors currently residing in 14th spot.

Alty announced on May 3 that they would move to full-time professional status in preparation for the start of next season.

However, Phil Parkinson's side were unable to mark that momentous announcement with a win, as they fell to a 3-0 defeat away to Notts County at the weekend.

Last Saturday's contest remained goalless at half time, but goals from Callum Roberts, Kyle Wootton and Ruben Rodrigues condemned Alty to their 11th away defeat of the National League season.

Another away trip awaits on Tuesday, and their previous form will not inspire too much confidence, with Altrincham's last 13 away league games yielding just two victories.

Team News

Byron Webster has started the last four matches for Bromley and the 35-year-old is expected to start alongside Ben Margetson and Bush in a back three.

Whitely, meanwhile, has now scored in his last two appearances after finding the net on Saturday, and he will be aiming to play a pivotal role against Altrincham.

As for the visitors, Ben Pringle is expected to retain his place in the side after starting against Notts County, with an unchanged lineup a possibility despite the 3-0 defeat at the weekend.

One of Altrincham's main goal threats will be Daniel Mooney, who is looking to add to the 11 league goals that he has scored this season.

Bromley possible starting lineup:

Balcombe; Margetson, Webster, Bush; Coulson, Bingham, Vennings, Sablier; Al-Hamadi, Whitely, Cheek

Altrincham possible starting lineup:

Thompson; Perritt, Mullarkey, Ferguson, Jones; Marriott, Osborne; Mooney, Cooper, Pringle; Hall

We say: Bromley 1-1 Altrincham

Altrincham tend to struggle on their travels, which is demonstrated by the fact that they have lost three of their last four away matches, but we think Altrincham will be able to take a point off a Bromley side who have experienced a bout of home draws.
