Halford extends Brighton loan

Nottingham Forest defender Greg Halford has extended his loan at Brighton & Hove Albion until January 1.

The 29-year-old has made two substitute appearances since joining the Seagulls from their Championship rivals.

He was due to return to the City Ground next week, but Brighton boss Sami Hyypia has agreed a deal for him to remain with the club for the remainder of 2014.

Hyypia now has seven loanees on his books, but is only allowed to name five of Darren Bent, Joao Teixeira, Ali Al-Habsi, Elliott Bennett, Gary Gardner and Joe Bennett in his squad to face Fulham on Saturday.

Halford, who has previously played for Colchester, Reading, Sunderland, Charlton Athletic, Sheffield United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Portsmouth, has not played for Forest in any competition this season.
