Brighton & Hove Albion announce that first-team coach Charlie Oatway has left the club following Gus Poyet's axe.

Brighton & Hove Albion have announced the departure of first-team coach Charlie Oatway following the dismissal of manager Gus Poyet.

The Championship outfit, who are now being led by new boss Oscar Garcia, suspended Oatway and former assistant manager Mauricio Taricco during an internal inquiry following the playoff semi-final defeat to Crystal Palace.

A statement from Brighton said: "The club would like to sincerely thank Charlie for his hard work, commitment and dedication since he joined the club in 1999."

Oatway, who spent 14 years with the club, has departed following Taricco's decision to leave.
