Brentford earn impressive win over Nice

Tottenham Hotspur loanee Alex Pritchard scores twice as Brentford defeat Ligue 1 side Nice 3-2 in their pre-season friendly at Griffin Park.

Brentford have earned an impressive 3-2 win over Ligue 1 side Nice in their pre-season friendly at Griffin Park.

The home side got off to a blistering start as Andre Gray opened the scoring with just one minute played, but Nice were soon back on level terms through Neal Maupay.

Loanee Alex Pritchard put Brentford back in front with a free kick on 38 minutes, and he made it 3-1 just four minutes later with a finish from close range.

However, Nice had the final say of what was an exciting first half as Lloyd Palun found the net with the goal at his mercy.

While the opening 45 minutes provided plenty of action for those in attendance, chances were few and far between after the restart.

Nice had a goal correctly ruled out for offside before Pritchard wasted the chance to seal his hat-trick during the final 20 minutes.
