Brazil lineup vs. Argentina: Predicted XI for 2026 World Cup qualifying clash

Who will replace Premier League trio? Predicted Brazil lineup vs. Argentina

Liverpool's Alisson Becker, Arsenal's Gabriel Magalhaes and Newcastle United's Bruno Guimaraes will all drop out of the Brazil starting lineup for Tuesday's World Cup 2026 qualifying clash against rivals Argentina.

Alisson has withdrawn from the Brazil squad after suffering a nasty clash of heads with Galatasaray's Davinson Sanchez in the recent 2-1 win over Colombia.

Gabriel and Guimaraes are also unavailable for the highly-anticipated game against Argentina due to an accumulation of yellow cards after the pair were booked in Thursday's victory.

With Alisson sidelined, Al-Nassr goalkeeper Bento is set to make his first international start since featuring in back-to-back friendlies against England and Spain in March 2024.

Brazil boss Dorival Junior will have to decide whether to replace Gabriel with Nottingham Forest's Murillo or Flamengo's Leo Ortiz, with the latter in pole position after coming off the bench to make his international debut on Thursday.

Marquinhos will retain his spot in central defence, while Vanderson and Guilherme Arana should line up at right and left-back respectively.

There will be a complete change in central midfield, with Guimaraes suspended and Gerson injured after being forced off in the first half against Colombia.

Newcastle United's Joelinton is in line to start after he replaced Gerson in the 28th minute, and he could be joined in the middle of the park by Andre of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Brazil have the option to line up in a 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1, and if they opt for the latter, Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior should operate on the flanks while Raphinha would likely start from the number 10 position.

Brighton & Hove Albion's Joao Pedro is set to retain his place in the side, although Dorival Junior does have the alternative options of Matheus Cunha and Endrick.

Brazil possible starting lineup: Bento; Vanderson, Marquinhos, Ortiz, Arana; Joelinton, Andre; Rodrygo, Raphinha, Vinicius; Pedro
