Rio to host 2014 World Cup final

FIFA has announced that Rio de Janeiro will host the 2014 World Cup final.

The 90,000-seater stadium will stage international football's biggest match, while Sao Paolo will host the opening fixture of the tournament which will feature the host nation.

World football's governing body also announced that teams will play each of their group games in a different city, meaning that some sides will have to travel thousands of miles from game to game.

The first match of the South American tournament will take place on Thursday, June 12.
