Joe Hart: 'It's been a long season'

Joe Hart says that the heat in Rio de Janeiro did nothing to help England's performance at the end of a long season.

Joe Hart believes that a combination of heat and a long season fatigued England in their friendly against Brazil in Rio de Janeiro.

The Three Lions were second best by far in the first half and were lucky to go into the break on level terms, but an improved second-half performance saw them walk away from the Maracana with a 2-2 draw.

"We didn't play well in the first half," Hart told ITV Sport.

"It wasn't how we wanted to play and we can moan all we want about the heat but it's at the end of a long season."

The result means that Brazil are unbeaten at home against a European team since England's last visit in 1984.
