How Brazil could line up against Paraguay

How Brazil could line up against Paraguay

Tournament hosts Brazil are out for redemption as they take on Paraguay in the first of this year's Copa America quarter-finals.

The Selecao, eight-time winners of the competition, have been eliminated at this stage by the same opponents in their last two knockout-round involvements.

Brazil did not even make it out of the group stage in the United States three years ago, but they had far less trouble this time around as they sealed top spot in Group A with a resounding 5-0 win over Peru in Sao Paulo.

Ahead of Friday's quarter-final clash with Paraguay, Sports Mole looks at how Tite may set out his side.

Out: Casemiro (suspended), Fernandinho (knee)

Napoli midfielder Allan is expected to start alongside Arthur in holding midfield as Casemiro is suspended after picking up two yellows and Fernandinho is carrying a knee injury.

The back four and goalkeeper will almost certainly stay the same, having yet to concede a goal in this year's competition, but changes may be made further up the field.

Tite was pressured into handing Everton a start against Peru following his impressive cameos from the bench against Bolivia and Venezuela, and the Gremio forward made the most of his latest opportunity.

Gabriel Jesus was less impressive shoved out on the right, his mixed evening capped with a late penalty miss against Peru, so Richarlison or David Neres are in contention to take over out wide.
