Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe reportedly wants to sign either Nick Pope or Jack Butland as a replacement for Asmir Begovic.

England international pair Nick Pope and Jack Butland are being eyed up by Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe, according to a report.

The Cherries are believed to be in the market for a new first-choice stopper due to concerns over Asmir Begovic and deputy Artur Boruc.

Begovic recently earned a recall to the side but he made two errors in Saturday's 3-1 home loss to Burnley.

The Sun suggests that Howe wants to sign one of Pope or Butland, capped one and nine times by the Three Lions respectively, ahead of next season.

Pope has lost his place to Tom Heaton and Joe Hart at Burnley, while Butland has spent 2018-19 plying his trade in the Championship with Stoke City.

Only two top-flight sides - Huddersfield Town and Fulham - have conceded more goals than Bournemouth's 61 this season.
