Bournemouth's fine start to the Premier League season continued as they drew 1-1 with Claudio Ranieri's Leicester City this afternoon.

Callum Wilson put this side ahead with a bicycle kick midway through the first half that is an early contender for goal of the season.

However, the Foxes refused to accept defeat, and salvaged a draw when Jamie Vardy struck from the penalty spot late on.

Bournemouth

Goal

Artur Boruc: A typical performance from the Polish goalkeeper, who looked shaky at times but also made a couple of excellent saves. (6/10)

Defence

Simon Francis: Composed at the back and solid going forwards, but struggled to keep track of Jeffrey Schlupp late on. (6/10)

Steve Cook: Gave away the penalty that saw Leicester City level the game, but otherwise stood up to what was thrown at him. (6/10)

Tommy Elphick: Looked nervous on the ball, and was caught in possession on one or two occasions. (5/10)

Charlie Daniels: Excellent in the first half, frequently bursting up the left wing. Provided the cross for Wilson's goal, but was forced off with injury at half time. (7/10)

Midfield

Andrew Surman: Functional if uninspired performance from the former Southampton man. Kept the ball moving, but rarely attempted to pick out an incisive pass. (6/10)

Max Gradel: A lively performance, though not always with much in the way of end product, until he too was forced off with an injury. (6/10)

Lee Tomlin: Looked assured on his home debut for Eddie Howe's side. Could have had a penalty, and was the main link with Wilson up front. (7/10)

Matt Ritchie: Not his best day, but showed plenty of endeavour and made a couple of surging runs into Leicester territory. (6/10)

Eunan O'Kane: Booked after losing the ball and pulling his man back, and struggled at times. (5/10)

Attack

Callum Wilson: Another fine afternoon from the young striker. Scored a spectacular goal and worked the channels all afternoon. (7/10)

Substitutes

Tyrone Mings: Came on at half time for Daniels, but only lasted six minutes himself as he was stretchered off with a nasty looking leg injury. (6/10)

Adam Smith: Replaced Mings, and though he wasn't as attacking as Daniels, was solid enough at the back. (6/10)

Marc Pugh: Replaced the injured Gradel, but saw little of the ball as Leicester dominated late on. (5/10)

Goal

Kasper Schmeichel: Nothing he could do about Wilson's goal, but flapped at a Gradel free kick. (6/10)

Defence

Ritchie De Laet: Booked early on and could easily have seen a second yellow. Struggled to cope with the running of Wilson and Gradel. (5/10)

Wes Morgan: The better half of Leicester's centre-backs, and threatened in front of goal on a few occasions. (6/10)

Robert Huth: Could have been sent off for kicking the ball into Wilson's face, and struggled to keep up with the Cherries striker all afternoon. (5/10)

Jeffrey Schlupp: Marshelled Ritchie well and was rampant down the left wing in the final 15 minutes. (7/10)

Midfield

Daniel Drinkwater: Gave the ball away on occasion, but was always looking for the ball and worked hard. (6/10)

Andy King: Booked and struggled with the pace of the game. (5/10)

Marc Albrighton: Covered plenty of ground but lacked accuracy with his crossing. Replaced in the second half. (6/10)

Ngolo Kante: Got forward well and could have scored early on, but went missing for large chunks of the game. (6/10)

Riyad Mahrez: Started the game brightly but faded quickly and was replaced at half time.(5/10)

Attack

Jamie Vardy: It was a difficult afternoon for the Leicester striker as he was isolated from his teammates, but he never stopped running and deserved his goal for his effort alone. (7/10)

Substitutes

Shinji Okazaki: Came on at half time but failed to impress. Wasted his only chance by taking an extra, unnecessary touch. (5/10)

Joe Dodoo: Came on to rapturous applause from the Leicester fans, but failed to connect with the ball when presented with a good chance. (5/10)

Yohan Benalouane: Thrown on in the final minutes but didn't see the ball. (6/10)
