Andrew Surman: 'We must maintain our belief'

Andrew Surman believes that having the right mentality will be key for Bournemouth as they look to secure promotion to the Premier League in their final three games of the season.

Bournemouth midfielder Andrew Surman has said that the team must remain mentally strong if they are to reach the Premier League.

The Cherries, who have never played in the top flight before, are a point clear at the top of the Championship with three games of the season remaining.

Surman, who won promotion with Norwich City in 2011, says that keeping a cool head will serve Eddie Howe's men well through the final matches of the campaign.

"We just need to keep believing in what we're doing and remember what has got us to where we are. Nobody needs to change their game or the game-plan," Surman told the Bournemouth Daily Echo.

"We believe in our ability, we know how good we can be on our day and just have to keep striving for that. We feel we are where we are because we're the best team in the league and have to keep believing that, irrespective of who we come up against.

"Mental strength is what it takes every day and not just in games. I think we are showing that we are mentally strong enough to see out the final three games."

Bournemouth host Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
