Eddie Howe: 'Bournemouth deserve Championship title'

Eddie Howe insists that Bournemouth were the best team in the Championship this season and deserve their title win.

Eddie Howe has said that Bournemouth were the best team in the Championship this season and deserved to win the title.

Bournemouth's 3-0 victory over Charlton Athletic on Saturday saw them leapfrog Watford into top spot after the Hornets conceded a late equaliser in their match against Sheffield Wednesday.

"We are thankful for that bit of help but I do think we deserve it," Howe told Sky Sports News.

"In my opinion we have been the best team this season. We have led the division for the longest time and I think it is fitting reward for the players. Once again they were magnificent and they have been magnificent all season."

Bournemouth secured their first promotion to the Premier League by beating Bolton Wanderers on Monday.
