Ter Stegen out of German Under-21 squad

Borussia Monchengladbach goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has been forced to withdraw from the Germany Under-21 squad for Tuesday's friendly against their Spanish counterparts.

The highly-rated stopper has reportedly recently undergone a medical ahead of a proposed summer move to Spanish champions Barcelona.

However, he will not feature for his country on Spanish soil this week after withdrawing from the German squad through illness.

Ter Stegen is expected to replace the outgoing Victor Valdes at the Camp Nou.
