Aubameyang reiterates desire to join Madrid

Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has reiterated that he wants to one day play for Real Madrid.

The Gabon international made the claims shortly after scoring against the Spanish giants in Wednesday night's Champions League group match at the Bernabeu.

Dortmund were trailing 2-0 in the second half when Aubameyang struck his 19th goal of the season on the hour mark, and the 27-year-old was involved again as he made the assist for Marco Reus's equaliser.

The forward has been linked to Premier League giants Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City in the past, but it seems as though he has his heart set on Madrid.

Aubameyang insists that he is content with life at Dortmund, but will not rule out a switch to the Spanish club in the future as he intends to honour a promise that he made to a family member.

"Yes [I still want to play for Madrid], it's a promise I made to my grandfather," Aubameyang told beIN Sports. "Right now I feel very good at Dortmund but in the future we'll see."

The result against Zinedine Zidane's side ensured that Dortmund finish top of Group F.
