Wolfsburg came close to opening the scoring inside 10 minutes through Ivica Olic, with the Croatian missing the target by inches having been played in by Ivan Perisic.

The Wolves did manage to find the breakthrough shortly after, and Olic was the man who got the goal when he was in the right place at the right time to fire a rebound into the back of the net.

The striker very nearly added a second before the interval, but his effort from close range came back off the crossbar to the relief of the home supporters.

Dortmund equalised six minutes into the second half courtesy of Robert Lewandowski, who climbed highest to plant a header past Mitch Langerak to make it 1-1.

Die Borussen found a winner a little over 10 minutes from time when Marco Reus drifted into the box and drilled the ball home to secure all three points for Dortmund.
