Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels has been sidelined until the New Year with a broken foot.

The centre-back suffered the problem during Germany's 1-0 win over England at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday.

Hummels is now expected to be out of action for at least the next month before he is available for selection again.

Meanwhile, fellow Dortmund defender Marcel Schmelzer will miss the next three weeks after straining his calf against England.

Dortmund return to Bundesliga action on Saturday when they play host to champions Bayern Munich.
