Ilkay Gundogan to return against Eintracht Frankfurt

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan will return from a back injury against Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday, confirms Thomas Tuchel.

Borussia Dortmund head coach Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that Ilkay Gundogan will return to the squad for Sunday's meeting with Eintracht Frankfurt.

Gundogan strained his back last weekend and Tuchel left the midfielder out of his side for the midweek defeat to PAOK in the Europa League.

After his back issues in recent years, there were fears that Gundogan had done serious damage but Tuchel believes that he will be fully fit for the visit of Frankfurt.

"He trained yesterday and I'm pretty sure he'll be able to play," Tuchel told reporters.

Erik Durm and Nuri Sahin are the only Dortmund players expected to miss out due to injury.
