Bolton Wanderers bring in Paddy McCarthy from Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace have loaned Paddy McCarthy to Championship side Bolton Wanderers for the rest of the season.

The 31-year-old defender has found appearances hard to come by for the Eagles and had a couple of months on loan at League One side Sheffield United at the end of 2014.

Since the end of the 2011-12 season, McCarthy has made just four total appearances for Palace because of injury and falling down the pecking order.

However, earlier this season he did sign a one-year contract extension at Selhurst Park that runs until the end of next term.

He moves to Bolton, where Neil Lennon is light in defence following injuries to David Wheater and Kevin McNaughton.
