Bolton agree Beckford fee

Bolton Wanderers have reportedly agreed a £1m fee with Leicester City to sign striker Jermaine Beckford.

The two clubs have been in talks over Beckford for more than a fortnight, with Bolton boss Dougie Freedman desperate to sign the former Leeds United forward.

After protracted negotiations Bolton have finally met Leicester's asking price and will discuss personal terms with the 29-year-old early next week, according to The Mirror.

Leicester are thought to be desperate to get the striker's £38,000-a-week wages off their books, with Bolton adamant that Beckford will have to take a cut in pay for the move to be finalised.

Beckford spent a large part of last season on loan at Huddersfield Town, scoring nine goals in 27 appearances to help the Yorkshire side retain their Championship status.
