Huddersfield Town put four past Bolton

Huddersfield Town overpower 10-man Bolton Wanderers to win 4-1 in the Championship this afternoon.

Huddersfield Town stepped up in the second half to defeat Bolton Wanderers 4-1 in the Championship this afternoon.

It was Bolton that took the lead just four minutes into the game after Liam Feeney did well to control a ball in the box before converting from a narrow angle.

Ishmael Miller came inches away from knocking in Sean Scannell's header before Bolton nearly scored two calamitous own goals through Ben Amos and Prince-Desir Gouano, who sliced his clearance to clip the crossbar.

Emyr Huws equalised for Town on the stroke of half time, firing in a low shot after a poorly cleared corner.

Huws headed wide after the break before Mustapha Carayol gave Town the lead after cutting inside and curling into the bottom corner.

Huddersfield upped the tempo at this point and Harry Bunn came close to opening up the lead a couple of times, before Huws grabbed his second after bundling Carayol's cross in at the far post.

Joel Lynch quickly grabbed a fourth soon after, robbing Lawrie Wilson of the ball before slamming in from close range. Derik Osede then made matters worse for Bolton as the Spaniard was sent off late on for two yellow cards.

The victory sees Huddersfield sit in 13th in the league, while Bolton lie just outside of the relegation zone in 21st.
