Bolton Wanderers will play in the second tier of English football next season after failing to beat Stoke at the Britannia this afternoon.

Bolton Wanderers have been relegated from the Premier League after failing to beat Stoke City this afternoon.

A win would have seen the Trotters finish just above Queens Park Rangers in 17th as the London club went down to two late goals at Manchester City, who won the title in a last-gasp fashion.

Owen Coyle's men were ahead until 13 minutes from time when Jonathan Walters scored his second from the spot to level the game at 2-2.

Bolton couldn't find a winner in the remaining moments and join Blackburn Rovers and Wolverhampton Wanderers in being relegated to the Championship.
