Muamba heads to Downing Street

Former Bolton Wanderers midfielder Fabrice Muamba was at Downing Street on Monday as he began his charity work following his retirement from football in the summer.

The 24-year-old suffered a cardiac arrest in March during an FA Cup tie with Tottenham Hotspur – and was revived 78 minutes after his heart had stopped.

The Englishman, who retired following advice from doctors, is now fronting a campaign designed to teach children Emergency Life Support skills in schools.

The petition received 100,000 signatures.
